Monica & Dominic’s Destination Wedding in Milan
It’s October 4th, and Milan wakes up under a grey sky. The rain comes and goes, soft and steady, as if blessing every corner of the city. Yet nothing could dim the joy of Monica and Dominic’s day.
She comes from Washington, he from Hong Kong — two worlds apart that somehow found each other. They met by chance, and some time later, destiny decided their story wasn’t over. It brought them back together — this time, for good.
They chose Italy as the meeting point between their lives, halfway between the United States and China. And they chose Milan because from here, centuries ago, the first bishops set sail to bring the Gospel to Hong Kong — a symbol of faith that means the world to them.
The ceremony at Chiesa San Gioachimo was intimate and filled with quiet emotion. Outside, the drizzle painted the streets silver, while inside, every look and every word glowed with warmth. Later, at Il Bric, the celebration came alive — round tables, candlelight, laughter, and the beautiful sound of friends and family gathered from across the world.
At one point, the room erupted in laughter as Monica’s father playfully “knighted” Dominic, declaring him worthy of his daughter’s hand — because to marry her, one must first prove to be a true gentleman.
The rain never stopped entirely, but no one seemed to mind. Love shone brighter than the weather — a reminder that even under grey skies, joy finds its own light.
